现代天山是典型的板内新生代复活型造山带,为什么远离板块边界上千公里的大陆内部会发生如此强烈的构造变形?构造变形是以什么样的方式和速度发生的?什么因素控制着大陆内部构造变形的发生?大陆内部构造变形与深部的物质运动和动力过程是怎样相互作用的?这些问题从20世纪80年代以来就引起了国际地球科学界的普遍关注,天山成为探索和回答上述重大科学问题的天然实验室.
The modern Tianshan is a typical intraplate Neozoic revival orogenic belt. Why is such intense structural deformation occurring within a thousand kilometers away from the plate boundary? In what way and at what speed does structural deformation occur? What factors control the continent What happened to the deformation of the internal structure? How did the structural deformation in the interior of the continent interact with the material and dynamical processes in the deep areas? These problems have drawn the universal attention of the international geoscience community since the 1980s. Tianshan has become the place where exploration and response to the aforementioned major Natural Laboratory of Scientific Problems.
