German machine tool output value accounted for 20% of world GDP, second only to Japan ranked second in the world. In 1995, the output value of machine tools was twice that of Italy, the second largest in Europe, about four times that of the third Switzerland. In the peak of 1990, Germany suffered from the two major factors of heavy burden caused by the reunification of East and West Germany and severe economic recession. In 1994 and 1994, the output of machine tools dropped to 60% of the peak value in 1990 for two consecutive years in 1994. It is predicted that in 1996 the machine tool output will recover to 80% of the peak. The steady development is expected in 1997, and the quotation may be increased at the EMO Hannover Fair. In 1998, its output value is expected to increase by 5% -7% over the previous year. This article based on the German Machine Tool Industry Association (VDW) data to explore the latest industry trends.
