近几年来电影的表现手法不断地丰富起来,国外的一些流派渐渐地被借鉴、利用,而民族化却有所忽视。我们这个民族有着几千年的文明史,我们民族的艺术是世界百花园里的奇花异葩,早已形成了自己的形式、风格,形成了自己的欣赏习惯和美学要求。在结构上,人们往往喜欢有完整的故事情节。在表现手法上,则喜欢含蓄、隽永的风格。如果违背了整个民族的欣赏要求,那么群众就不欢迎,就不接受,甚至要加以指责。具有民族特色的影片总是受人喜爱的,《牧马人》、《人到中年》、《城南旧事》等就是民族化的优秀影片。《牧马人》的上座率高达一亿人次(据《电影通讯》),《人到中年》获得双奖,《城南旧事》获得国际大奖,都说明了民族化对于电影艺术的重要性。陶金在谈到电影民族化时说:‘只有走一条民族化的道路,才是我们电影艺术发展的正确道路.越是民族化
