The Building Sector (DBR) Kiln Research Group of the Commonwealth Institute for Scientific and Industrial Research (CRISO) in Australia developed a well-performing clay brick made from sawdust at a lumber mill, and some factories have started to produce it. The method of manufacture is not difficult: the sawdust is mixed with clay and shaped and burned in a kiln.
