Compared to tragedy and historical drama, comedy is often mistaken for a drama that “explores the human condition and its true nature.” However, Shakespeare profoundly understands the world, its structure and its place in the world with its unique drama structure. Just as Shakespeare’s tragedy contains many comedy clips, his comedy also touches on a variety of gloomy themes and sometimes suddenly turns into a tragic situation. My argument points out that in Shakespeare’s comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” there are elements of comedy, tragedy and saddness that appear alternately. This article analyzes the work, which includes the most popular Shakespearean comedy, starting from its nested structure and exploring the doubts and gloomy outlooks on life that are contained in the comedy plot.
