The authors selected 282 children from a US pediatric clinic and randomized them to acetaminophen or placebo. The children were divided into 2, 4, 6, 18 months and 4 to 6 years old 5 age groups, 0 to 30 minutes before inoculation DTP and 3,7,12 and 18 hours after inoculation were given 40,80,80 , 120 and 240 mg acetaminophen, body temperature was measured at 3, 7, 12 and 24 hours after inoculation, and local and systemic reactions were observed. 145 were given acetaminophen and 137 were given placebo.
