广义的非均匀堆化学问题应包括有关核燃料与反应堆材料的化学问题,反应堆运转中的化学过程与反应堆维护中的化学问题,热铀处理、钚的化学、裂变产物的综合利用、废水处理等,以及与上述诸方面有关的分析化学问题。狭义的非均匀堆化学问题则仅指反应堆运转中的化学过程及反应堆维护中的化学问题,此即为本文内容的范围。为了保证反应堆正常运转,必须研究堆内物质在高温(高压)辐射场下的相容性,解决固体物质的防腐问题及流体物质(液体及气体)的净化问题。不同类型的反应堆,问题也各不相同,为便于讨论起见,分类阐述如下:
