The tetranuclear silver cluster anion [Me4N] 2 [Ag4 (SePh) 6] · CH3OH with benzeneselenophenol as the ligand was synthesized and characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The core of cluster anion Ag4Se6 is a tetrahedron composed of 4 Ag atoms, which is connected with the deformed octahedron composed of 6 Se atoms to form an adamantane type structure
