The history of the trade in Jiaodong’s laborers (formerly known as coolies) has had a certain influence in the whole country. The study of this issue directly involves the history of invasion of China by the capitalist countries and the history of the Chinese Workers’ Movement. It is worth to conscientiously collate the information to explore. After the Opium War in 1840, western invaders plundered Chinese laborers at the coastal ports of our country. In fact, the Chinese laborers trade has already started. However, the prevalent trade of Chinese laborers in the Jiaodong Peninsula is a relatively late matter. In the late Qing Dynasty, local peasants in Jiaodong had the habit of pulling their beggars to make a living abroad. Some went to Siberia, and some went to Southeast Asia, Africa and North and South America as far as Southeast Asia.
