吴彦俭1970年出生在青海省西宁市大通县的一个农民家庭,现在大通县体委工作。他9岁时因意外事故失去左臂。从小就倔强的吴彦俭没有自卑,他坦然承受了世间带给他的不幸。吴彦俭刻苦学习,一直是班级优秀生。初中毕业参加中师考试,因残疾未被录取。他决心以更顽强的毅力、更优异的成绩博得社会对他人生价值的承认。后来他不但以优异的成绩读完初中,还幸运地被青海师专录取。在大学苦读的三年里,他不但认真学习各门功课,空余时间还和足球交上了“朋友”。在老师精心指点下,他刻苦训练,很快掌握了技术要领,还学习了足球理论,成为校足球队一名主力队员。足球练就了吴彦俭健壮的身体,也为日后他擅长的中长跑项目奠定了基础。 Wu Yanjian was born in 1970 in Datong County, Xining City, Qinghai Province, a peasant family, Datong County Sports Commission now work.
