This article describes an electromagnetic system that determines the orientation of the driver’s helmet. The system is equipped with an electromagnetic field vector transmitting antenna, an electromagnetic field vector receiving antenna, and a device (for determining the position of the helmet) that responds to the detection of the electromagnetic field vector and the transmitted electromagnetic field vector. The device has first and second output terminals, the first output terminal for providing direction to the application device. The system also has a driver and a selector switch: the driver is used to supply driving energy to the transmitting antenna coil; and the selector switch is connected to the second output terminal of the controlling device and the driver for sequentially energizing the coils of the transmitting antenna.
