Objective To explore the relationship between overweight, obesity and blood pressure, blood lipids, blood glucose, uric acid and other health indicators to provide a scientific basis for improving the health of workers. Methods According to the body mass index (BMI) grouping, 6045 workers in some government schools in Shijiazhuang City were followed up from January 2016 to January 10 2016 and questionnaires, medical examinations and laboratory tests were conducted. Results The rates of overweight and obesity were 43.3% and 13.5%, respectively. The rates of overweight and obesity in males were higher than those in females. The prevalence of blood pressure, triglyceride (TG), uric acid, urea nitrogen, fasting blood glucose (FBG), hemoglobin concentration and high TG, low density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), diabetes mellitus, Increased, and HDL-C showed a downward trend. Conclusions BMI is closely related to the prevalence of chronic diseases such as hyperlipidemia, diabetes and hypertension, and improves the health of staff through weight management.
