Starting from these females, the real life and spiritual homeland of the people in the South after the war were tapped to reflect the real problems of American society at that time. As the two writers, from different perspectives of men and women, respectively, the images of women in the South show us a different picture: Tennessee Williams’s “Lady of the South” and Margaret M. Southern women in the pen. Through a comparative study of the female images written by the two writers, we can have a clearer understanding of the real life of social women at that time.
