In order to overcome the relative irreversibility of vasectomy, many retrograde vas deferens devices (IVDs) have been studied both at home and abroad since the early 1960s. Animal experiments including copper IVD have shown remarkable prospects. Most researchers have shown that copper can significantly inhibit the activities and metabolism of rodents and human sperm, resulting in sperm decapitation and death, affecting their ability to fertilize. Observation of rats implanted copper IVD contraceptive effect of up to 100%, on the genital tract organ without any harmful effects. The contraceptive effectiveness of copper IVD is non-obstructive, with contraceptive effectiveness directly proportional to its surface area. Animal experiments show that copper IVD may develop into a fertility and fertility of male fertilization method. Before further use in the human body needs further study.
