Objective: To evaluate the intervention effect of mental nursing based on WeChat platform on the anxiety level of gestational diabetes mellitus patients. Methods: Eighty-six patients with gestational diabetes mellitus were divided into experimental group (n = 43) and control group (n = 43) by random number table. The control group was given routine nursing. The experimental group was administered on the basis of routine nursing Based on the WeChat platform-based psychological nursing intervention, two groups of patients were evaluated before and after intervention for three months respectively, and the incidence of complications of both maternal and neonatal comparisons was compared after termination of pregnancy. Results: (1) The number of anxiety in the experimental group was less than that of the control group (χ ~ 2 = 20.512, P <0.05) after 3 months of intervention. The anxiety score of the experimental group was lower than that of the control group (t = -5.353, P <0.05), the difference was statistically significant; (2) After 3 months of intervention, the blood sugar of experimental group was lower than that of control group at 2h after three meals, the difference was statistically significant (t = -3.132, -2.248, -2.030; P <0.05). (3) The incidences of cesarean section, neonatal complications and maternal complications in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (χ ~ 2 = 5.296,5.780,7.026; P <0.05 ). Conclusion: The psychological care based on WeChat platform can effectively reduce the level of anxiety in patients with gestational diabetes and promote patients to self-management, thereby improving the pregnancy outcome.
