In the pile foundation project, the determination of the optimum depth of the pile into the thin holding layer, in addition to reference to the use of the probe data, has been the lack of rigorous calculation methods. By measuring a large number of piles and reviewing the relevant literature, the author concluded the calculation method of the best depth of the pile into the thin layer and played a certain role in the project.
