Recurrent atrial tachycardia (AT) is often observed late after heart surgery and it contributes significantly to the morbidity and mortality of this group of patients. In patients with structurally normal hearts the most prevalent type of AT is a macroreentrant atrial tachycardia (MAT), more specifically known as common atrial flutter (AFL).
