“Eavesdropping” is a literary event that takes place in modern literature. Its political nature has not been carefully analyzed. This article interprets it as a special gesture of the modern subject, an act that excludes collective experience in order to obtain absolute egohood, an event without incident, and a political unconscious of a sublime historical subject. And to “sink” as a case of one of the four eavesdropping incident to make a critical study to explain in part the origins of romanticism since the May Fourth absolute personal concept and related literary forms.
