Histochemical and Cytochemical Characterization of Hydrocarbons in Epithelial Cells The epithelial secretory cells of the sheep bronchial mucosa were examined by histochemistry (light microscopy) and cytochemistry. Six morphologically different granulosa cells were observed on the basis of morphology and airway distribution: four kinds of mucus (M_2 ~ M_4), serous (SC) and Clara cells (CC). Stereological and morphological measurements indicate that M_3, M_4, SC and CC are significantly different from each other and from M_1 and M_2 cells.
