A crane lifts steel frames to the top of a power transmission tower under construction near the bank of the Yangtze River in Fanchang County, east China’s Anhui Province, on February 6.

The tower is part of the world’s longest power grid project, which reaches 3,319 km from Changji in northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to Guquan in Anhui. The project will be finished within the year with a designed transmission capacity of 12 million kw while setting a world record for highest voltage at 1,100 kv.
