The usual art history writing, in addition to Chronicles Biography, a tendency to change the style of history, the other tends to the history of the development of ideas. The former, like many scholars of Western history, the latter, such as Taiwan scholar Lin Xingling’s study of the development of China’s 100-year oil painting, holds that Mao Zedong and his literary thoughts are the determinants of the development of Chinese oil painting. These two kinds of epistemology and the method of governing history are completely separated, lacking the internal connection, especially the relationship between thought and style, and only remain on the surface of the explanation.
