《中国哲学的道家之论》(A Daoist Theory of Chinese Thoughts)是为西方的哲学专业学者而写的,其目的在于帮助他们从哲学层面,而不是汉学家们过去所用的神秘的、直觉的宗教的方式,理解中国的古典哲学思想。用哲学方式建立理解中国古典思想的通道就是要避开现存的宗教性或历史性诠释研究所表述的混淆视听的教条,采用规范严格的哲学推理。哲学家对于中国古代思想者的关怀,远远不止是重构他们的内心生活和信仰,而是要更多且精确地重构可以证成他们不同的哲学反思和洞见的理性。就其方法论而言,尽管西方哲学尚未实现拥有一种确定而完整的涵义分析方法论,至关重要的是应用一种规范的涵义概念或理论,并保持论证的严密性。与这种方法论相左的是,在针对非儒学派的研究中,包容原则被滥用或误用。哲学方法应该进行更原初的分析,而人道原则,且结合使用西方哲学的概念分析和语言哲学,则能够最大限度地寻求不同思想家对学说的最合理的解释。
The A Daoist Theory of Chinese Thoughts was written for Western philosophers, whose purpose is to help them, from the philosophical level, not the mysterious, intuitive religion used by sinologists in the past Way to understand China’s classical philosophy. A philosophical approach to the establishment of an understanding of Chinese classical thought is to avoid dogmatic confusion as expressed by existing religious or historical interpretation studies and adopt rigorous philosophical reasoning. The philosophers’ concern for ancient Chinese thinkers goes far beyond merely reconstructing their inner lives and beliefs, but rather more and precisely reconstructing the rationality that justifies their different philosophical reflections and insights. In terms of its methodology, although Western philosophy has not yet had a definitive and complete methodology for the analysis of semantic meaning, it is of paramount importance to apply a canonical notion or theory of meaning and maintain the rigor of argumentation. Contrary to this methodology, the principle of inclusion is abused or misused in studies directed at non-Confucian schools. Philosophical methods should be more original analysis, and humanitarian principles, combined with the concept of Western philosophy and philosophy of language, you can maximize the different thinker on the theory of the most reasonable explanation.
