产量占全矿总产量４０％的九层煤，中部含有０．３５～０．４０ｍ夹石，一次采全高，灰分高达４２％以上，块煤率只有６．３％。利用自行研制的小直径滚筒采煤机先掏出夹矸，再回采上、下分层媒的方法，使原煤灰分降低到２８％以下，块煤率提高到２１．６％以上，取得较好的经济效益。
