This article is a preliminary study on the influence of overseas culture (the Hong Kong part) of the Shanghai Fine Arts College (1913-1937) in order to understand the overseas influence of the Shanghai culture during the Republic of China. The article first counts the number of overseas Chinese artists in Shanghai Metrology and the distribution of overseas residences. Secondly, I focus on artists living in Hong Kong. Of these, two have settled in Hong Kong, including Qian Ding and Wu Gonghu, both of whom are not representative figures of the Academy. The others are fake or temporarily reside in Hong Kong. The article points out that compared with publishing, exhibitions and other short-term academic exchange activities, immigrants are not the main ways that Shanghai American College influences Hong Kong’s culture during the Republic of China.
