Ash等曾报道彭亨丝虫适于蒙古砂鼠(Meriones unguiculatus)体内发育,McCall等证实彭亨丝虫接种砂鼠腹腔内可以发育成熟。作者进一步应用彭亨丝虫-砂鼠模型,以丝虫成虫和幼丝虫从砂鼠移植到砂鼠获得成功。取100条彭亨丝虫传染期幼虫经腹腔内注射感染砂鼠,感染后30天将鼠杀死,于死后5分钟内剥皮、取出内脏,并用生理盐水洗涤腹腔。将皮肤、尸体和内脏置入生理盐水内漂洗,从漂洗液中寻找幼丝虫。将检获的丝虫置台氏液中,按下列两种方法把雌雄成对地移植于未感染的雄鼠体内:1.阴囊剃毛后
