This article describes the recent technological innovations and trends in polyurethane adhesives, such as laminated polyurethane adhesives used in the manufacture of flexible packaging materials that have both low monomer (aromatic isocyanate and amine) mobility and “smart cure” (Curing latency or adjustable cure rate); latent single-component systems based on surface passivated solid isocyanates open up new opportunities for hot melt adhesives and waterborne polyurethane dispersions; a new generation of Purm elMeroEm issionTM adhesives The content of MD I monomer in the agent is less than 0.1%, thus significantly reducing the volatilization of toxic isocyanate gas during use and greatly improving the operational safety. In response to the new technology, new products, and increasingly stringent safety and environmental requirements, polyurethane adhesive once again show us its unique vitality.
