Shanghai Yangpu District Cancer Center was founded in 1924 and formerly known as Hudong Hospital. In December 1978, it was reorganized into a district-level oncology specialist hospital. The hospital is located in the northeastern industrial area of Shanghai and is one of the 12 central urban districts in Shanghai. There are more than 100 large and medium-sized enterprises in the region and 1,080,000 permanent residents. The District Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center has four functions of medical treatment, prevention, health care and rehabilitation. It is mainly focused on cancer prevention and control.
