Ocean current is one of the core contents of natural geography. The new curriculum clearly states: “The use of maps to summarize the distribution of ocean currents in the world and illustrate the impact of ocean currents on the geographical environment.” Therefore, editors of all editions, in accordance with the requirements of the course standard, organize the materials around the following three aspects: And types (cold and warm); the distribution of ocean currents in the world; and the influence of ocean currents on the geographical environment. However, the content is not exactly the same, especially the differences between ocean current concepts and taxonomy. Different versions of compulsory textbooks, compulsory textbooks and elective textbooks are not the same. Even the same version of textbooks have differences in narration of ocean current concepts and taxonomic standards, and even seemingly contradictory places lead to confusion in teachers’ teaching. In this regard, the author on the basis of access to relevant information, combined with different versions of textbooks, the concept of ocean currents, taxonomies and other related content for a discussion.
