1977年我们开始了对玉米矮化问题的探索研究,目的是为了改良我区当前推广的玉米杂交组合因植株过高,易倒伏,不宜密植,影响产量进一步提高的不良性状。通过杂交、回交办法输入矮生基因,把高秆自交系转育为矮秆同型系,并在后代矮分离材料及组合中严格株型结构的选择。通过本地与海南连续几年的工作,已将我区常用的玉米自交系330、武105、M017及有苗头的新选系新23、新21等七八个系,陆续转育成了相应的矮秆同型系及稳定的矮秆材料。从1979年起,又开始了矮秆组合的选配工作,重点是将不同的矮秆材料分别按原高秆组合方式测配及进行观察试验。通过79年冬在海南100余个矮秆杂交组合的观察鉴定,其
