Cocoa town Ghana is the world-famous hometown of cocoa, cocoa cultivation has been a hundred years of history. The name “cocoa” is the original meaning of “God’s food.” Tracing back, cacao tree was first grown in the Amazon basin of South America and was later introduced into Sao Tome and Fernando Island in West Africa. In 1879, Ghanaian smith Teuthuwa brought six cacao seeds back from Fernando Island and planted them over twenty miles from Accra, the capital. Year after year, cocoa has gradually multiplied due to the humid and hot climates in southern Ghana and its adaptation to cocoa growth. Since the 1920s, Ghana has been the world’s largest producer and exporter of cocoa for a long time. Cocoa is called “green gold.” It plays a pivotal role in the economy of Ghana. Exports of cocoa normally account for 65% of the total annual foreign exchange earnings exported by Ghana and cocoa export taxes account for 30% of the annual revenue of the government. About a third of Ghana’s population
