Mr and Mrs Wilson and their children were going to begin their holiday. As they had decided to spend it in another country,they had to reach the airport at eleven forty.“It?蒺ll take us half an hour to get there in the taxi,”Mr Wilson said.“So we all have to be ready by 11 o?蒺clock. Nobody should be late.”
At ten to eleven they were still all running around doing things,except Mrs Wilson,who was still quietly on a chair in the garden enjoying the sun.
Her husband and children were very surprised that she was not in a hurry until the taxi arrived and Mrs Wilson said to them,“Well,I knew that this was going to happen,so before I went to bed last night,I moved all clocks and watches ahead a half hour. So now we can go to the airport quietly without worrying about being late.”
One evening,Mr and Mrs Brown with Mr and Mrs White were on their way home. It was very hot and they felt thirsty. They went to a bar. A waiter came to their table and asked what they wanted to have. One lady said that she only wanted black tea. One of the gentlemen asked the other whether he wanted some sugar in his milk. Mrs Brown said that her husband and she didn?蒺t like beer. One of the Whites said she wanted coffee.
Then the waiter brought a cup of black tea,a glass of milk,a mug of beer and a cup of coffee.

I took your coat and you have got mine. Please give me my coat.”Mr John answered,“I gave the money to a waiter. He will give it to you.”
Then they went to see the manager of the restaurant. But the manager said,“We have no waiter here. We only have waitresses. You gave the money to a thief.”Mr John was frightened and shouted,“I shall call the police at once.”
Jack had gone to college to study history,but at the end of his first year,his history teacher didn?蒺t let him pass his test,and he was told he would have to leave the college. But his father decided that he would go to see the teacher and asked him to let Jack go on with his studies the following year.
“He is a good boy,”said Jack?蒺s father,“and if you let him pass this time,I?蒺m sure he?蒺ll do much better next year and pass the test easily.”
“No,no,that?蒺s quite impossible!”replied the teacher immediately.“Do you know,last month I asked him when Lincoln died,and he didn?蒺t know.”
“Please,sir,give him another chance,”said the father.“You see,I?蒺m afraid we don?蒺t take any newspaper to our house,so none of us even knew that Lincoln was ill.”
