The birth of a movie The movie “Shang Gan Ling” was produced by Changchun Film Studio at the end of 1956. Its brewing started with a trip to North Korea three years ago by the script writer Lin Seung. In October 1953, just after the armistice of the Korean War was concluded, the volunteer army had not yet evacuated. At the time, Lin Shan, secretary-general of the Art Committee of the Central Bureau of Film, accompanied the representative of the film industry as the third motherland led by Comrade Helong Towards the consolation mission to North Korea. In more than two months of condolences, he directly touched the idea of Lin Shan’s film “Shang Gan Ling” that he visited an exhibition commemorating the third anniversary of the volunteer troops going abroad for operations.
