从人文的角度看香港文学 ,不难察觉到某种女性的色彩。这也就是为什么 ,香港会有如此之多的女性作家 ,而且从整体上具备颇大的创作优势。女性作家相比之下就显得私人一些 ,她们更关心自己在这个城市的个人生存问题 ,探索自己的精神如何才能保持平衡以及获得恰当的安置。香港这座“孤岛”和她们心灵之间所建立的复杂关系 ,不独因为她们居住在这里 ,还因为她们比男性作家更需要寻求精神的依傍 ,并且把丰富的情感投射进去。在香港的女性写作中 ,不管是爱情、婚姻、家庭、还是青春、生命、男人 ,在这些永远言说不尽的话题中 ,她们总是更乐意于找到一个可以把种种精神的内涵放置于其中的“容器”。这样的“容器”通常展开为有一定疆域和内部分界的空间布局(从住宅、公共场所到一座城市) ,能够让她们安排一幕幕人生的活剧在其中上演。与此同时 ,那里也就成了她们永远的念想 ,成了心灵安息的所在。当“房子”作为一个有代表性的意象相当突出地呈现在香港女性作家的作品中时 ,谁也不会怀疑其中包含着命定的成分。

At the same time, there they have become their eternal thoughts, has become the resting place of the soul. When the “house” is quite prominent as a representative image in the works of Hong Kong women writers, no one suspects that it contains the ingredient of destiny.
