U.S. National Bureau of Standards scientists have already manufactured and started experimenting with dentures that they consider the first to be made of titanium. Titanium is now being tested as a toothed crown and bridge to replace the previously used gold and nickel alloys. National Bureau of Standards reported that the use of titanium alloy experimental work has aroused great interest of the people. Recently, as lower melting point titanium alloys have been used in the aviation industry, the potential for titanium in dental applications, which require materials to be easily cast into complex shapes, has emerged.
