The National Committee on U.S.-China Trade is optimistic about the further development of U.S.-China economic relations in the coming years. Last year, the bilateral trade between the United States and China reached a record 6 billion U.S. dollars. China has a slight surplus. It is estimated that by the end of 1985, the bilateral trade volume between the United States and China will increase to about 7 billion U.S. dollars, bringing the balance of imports and exports between the two sides roughly.
