贵州省纳雍县昆寨乡夹岩村,地处大山深处。在夹岩村,有一所只有1名教师和20多个学生的山村小学。由于学校教室已成危房,学校只办一年级,读二、三年级的孩子必须去乡政府所在地的小学。每天早上,七八岁的孩子天没亮就要动身,步行一两个小时的山路才能到学校。多数家庭的孩子,坚持读到三四年级就辍学了。2011年国庆节,贵州民族大学大三女生杨艾箐随家在夹岩村的一位同班女同学来到夹岩村,当她看到20多个孩子坐在四面透风的破屋里上课,心酸不已。一年后的2012年9月,一幢耗资30万元的新教学楼在夹岩村奇迹般落成,学校从此设置了学前班至小学四年级,全村近150名适龄儿童全都入学。创造这一奇迹的,就是杨艾箐。是杨艾箐对山里孩子的拳拳爱心,使她萌生了用一对银戒指为山里孩子换一所小学的梦想,而且经过她的曲折努力,最终梦想成真!
