中国当代艺术在不知不觉中发生变化。李晓峰将中国当代艺术的三个阶段简要地概括为“看别人”、“被别人看”和“看自己”。在我看来,只有到了“看自己”的阶段,中国当代艺术才真正具有当代性。具有讽刺意味的是,具有当代性的中国艺术很可能是一种没有“中国性”标志的中国艺术,一种具有国际风格的中国艺术。我们很容易识别那些“看别人”的艺术不是中国艺术,因为这些艺术根本就没有中国特征。但是,我们不容易明白,有些具有典型中国特征和中国符号的艺术也不是中国艺术,因为它们是“被别人
