In the early 1960s, hydrogen-occluded alloys were discovered. By utilizing the heat generation or endothermic phenomenon when hydrogen was absorbed or released, an energy-saving thermal system using hydrogen-occluded alloy for heat pumps and heat storage was being developed. Japan’s National Rail can be hydrogen storage alloy thermal system used in general heat storage, building heating and cooling equipment or snow melt and many other aspects.
