The central wavenumber of NOAA 11 satellite high-resolution and high-resolution radiometer 2 (AVHRR / 2) sensor hot aisles was re-evaluated. In the NOAA-11 Satellite Launch (?) Followed by the edited NOAA Polar Data User’s Guide, the center wavenumber of the AVHRR / 2 is not correctly determined. This article lists the correct values for NOAA-11 AVHRR / 2 center wavenumbers and details the differences in light temperatures estimated using these correct center wavenumber values. It has been found that the final change in bright temperature of channels 3 and 4 is not significant, whereas the brightness of channel 5 is 0.34 0.44 K higher than that calculated with the incorrect center wave number. It has been shown that updating the center wavenumber decreases the estimated sea surface temperature of the “two-part window” by 0.6-1.7K, while the “three-point window” sea surface temperature usually decreases by 0.34-0.42K.
