油气化探精查方法目前在国内应用于滚动勘探开发尚不多见，它是依据在目的区内一定深度的土壤中采样，经过一系列特殊方法处理，来测试分析其中的酸解烃、热释烃、荧光光谱以及土壤蚀变碳酸盐（△C）的含量．通过上述指标导常的综合分析，确定寻找油气的有利地区。本方法通过在南阳凹陷南部断超带的应用检验，表明该技术对油田滚动勘探开发寻找储量起到较好的辅助作用。
