法语中的“知识分子”一词并非如学界所普遍认为的那样 ,最早由老虎总理克里蒙梭于1 898年使用 ,此前即有雷南等人用过该词 ,克里蒙梭只是“德雷福斯事件”中第一个使用该词的人。俄语中的“知识分子”一词的最早使用者是别林斯基 ,而非博博雷金 ;该词产生后 ,虽也用来指那些受欧洲近代思潮影响 ,对俄国现状不满的人 ,但这只是该词的三种主要含义之一 ,而非惟一含义。汉语中“知识分子”一词早在 1 92 0年即有人使用 ,而非如有的学者所言产生于 2 0世纪 2 0年代末或 30年代。
