Many birds roam over the Gulong River, like the fish in the sky. For my fathers, the birds are not just ordinary landscapes. They even confuse the boundaries of species to a large extent and regard people, birds and fish as common guest of Gu Longchuan. I am still still amazed at why my elders are so humbled by the positioning of human beings' living coordinates in nature and have such profound reverence for nature. They even associate people's fate with birds. In the New Year's Eve, the conservative elders think that since birds can fly or walk freely between heaven and earth, they are divine and must know the mystery of heaven and earth. The first song of a bird before the dawn of the first lunar month may be some kind of oracle.
