Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Party Central Committee, the state has implemented reward policies for science and technology, which has made great progress in the city’s medical science and technology. Between 1978 and 1991, the Shanghai Health System received a total of 658 major scientific and technological achievement awards, including 97 national invention awards, natural science awards, and scientific and technological progress awards; 262 items of the Ministry of Health Science and Technology Achievement Progress Award; and 299 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Awards. .
