The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether artificial tooth rooting can successfully prevent alveolar crestal absorption. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Six baboons were used as experimental subjects. Mandibular lateral incisors and second bicuspid teeth were removed and artificial root of hydroxyapatite was implanted into the alveolar fossa immediately. Artificial tooth root socket depth of 1/2, one side of the implant at the bottom, only the other side of the socket to block the alveolar. The lateral incisors were implanted with an artificial root, and the second maxillary incisors were implanted in the proximal and distal roots, respectively (except for the single root).
