However, Strange Stories in a Lonely Studio has become its highest peak in classical novels with its unique charm. Pu Songling Branch Yanzhong frustrated, sinking under the bureaucracy, although orthodox literati, but does not exclude vernacular writing, the existing fourteen songs, vulgar language easy to understand, to cater to the aesthetic taste of the lower people. As his spiritual sustenance “Strange Stories” is still used in classical Chinese. Classical Chinese has always existed as an official orthodox style and is a symbol of literary status. Oral vernacular is easy to understand and widely used among the general public. It is a symbol of popular culture. Pu Songling’s literary creations are both representative of its two different realms: the classical language means an illusory ideal, and the vernacular is a symbol of returning to reality.
