Culture and language are inseparable. Language is the carrier of culture and an important part of culture. At the same time, culture has a distinct national character, and different languages have different cultural imprints. Therefore, if you want to understand a certain language in a profound and correct way, it is not enough to know the relevant grammar and vocabulary knowledge. You must also be familiar with the characteristics and content of the corresponding culture. In order to facilitate research, people divide culture into three different levels: surface culture, middle culture, and deep culture. Cultural differences at different levels create cross-cultural barriers to reading comprehension. This article starts from the perspective of cultural anthropology, makes a shallow discussion on this issue, and points out the necessity of learning relevant cultural knowledge in the process of improving reading comprehension.
