癫痫是神经系统常见疾病之一,其患病率约为0.5%,而女性患者中的50~70%的癫痫发作只在月经期或是在月经期发作次数增加,这即所谓的经期性癫痫。自1885年Gowers首次提出“癫痫发作在月经期加重”以来,不少学者认为很可能经期性癫痫与女性激素的周期性变化有关,即提出了癫痫发作中雌激素的致痫性和孕激素的抗痫作用。我们选用放免法测定女性癫痫患者月经期血清中雌二醇、孕酮之浓度,并对经期性癫痫患者、非经期性癫痫患者及正常人进行对比,以期了解经期性癫痫的可能原因。
