The 1920s is a significant period in the history of America during which enormous changes took place.Given catchy appellations such as "the Jazz Age","the Roaring Twenties" and "the prosperity period",the 1920s drew vast public attention as well as intellectual interpretation. The formation of a national culture went through the decade. The 1920s experienced affluence, and with it spread a consumer market and culture into every corner of life.Doubtless, most Americans embraced the new opportunities, finding in consumer goods not only comfort, convenience, and pleasure, but also new ways of creating personal identity and communicating means in an increasingly impersonal and mobile society. To conclude,it can’t be denied that the 1920s was in truth a period that represented a new era in social and cultural sense,an era symbolizing America’s entry into a modern society.
