1991年10月9日中国航空航天部高级技术顾问任新民,在第42届国际宇航学会联合会代表会议上说:“尽管5年来推销长征火箭获得很少商业发射合同,但不管中美最近举行的贸易谈判结果如何,中国将继续研制新长征系列改进型。”他又说:“推销商用长征火箭不论是成功,还是失败,这将对我国内卫星和发射事业无影响。” 10月30～31日在华盛顿举行中美年度谈判商业发射卫星协议的执行
On October 9, 1991, Ren Xinmin, senior technical adviser of the Chinese Ministry of Aeronautics and Astronautics, said at the 42nd International Association of Astronautical Federation representatives: "Although the Long March Rocket has received few commercial launch contracts in the past five years, it has not been held recently by China and the United States.
