The Faroe Islands are located 430 kilometers from the southeast Atlantic in Iceland, 600 kilometers west of Norway and 300 kilometers northwest of Scotland. Faroe Islands is made up of 18 islands, of which 17 are inhabited, with a total area of 1399 square kilometers, the largest is Streymoy Island, an area of 373.5 square kilometers (including the capital Torshavn ). The Faroe Islands, which originated in volcanoes and form part of the North Atlantic basaltic zone stretching from Iceland to Greenland, are made up of glaciers with mountains, valleys and narrow fjords.
